Athlete Spotlight, Ben Nofsinger

Leading the team in home runs, Ben Nofsinger has caught the attention of many. Nofsinger, currently a redshirt junior at Illinois Central College (ICC), is from Washington, Ill. He attended Peoria Christian High School before coming to ICC.
The go-to guy for out-of-the-park hits, Nofsinger has been a leader for the Baseball team. Though the cougars haven’t found the dominating success they were seeking, in regards to victories, their statistics tell a different story.
Nofsinger is responsible for ten of the team’s twenty-one home runs, twenty RBIs, and a .313 batting average. Nofsinger credits this success to his “dedication to the weight room” and “getting (his) swing right”. He earned a Mid-West Athletic Conference All-Academic Team nod in 2021, a fantastic achievement for this student-athlete.
The cougars will play Southwestern Illinois College Blue Storm at home on Wednesday, April 12. This will be ICC’s second time playing the Blue Storm ever, and they hope to even the score to 1-1 with a win. Good Luck Cougars!
