Illinois Central College (ICC) Student Government Association (SGA) sponsored a courtyard carnival Wednesday, September 14, from 12 pm to 4 pm on the East Peoria Campus. The event had free cotton candy and popcorn, carnival games, a bouncy house, raffles and more.

Emily Van Bruwaene, President of the SGA, explains that they have been hosting the carnival on campus for many years. SGA hosts several events each semester to keep its presence well known on campus and provide students with a way to connect with their peers.

“We’re just trying to get everyone out,” Van Bruwaene said.

SGA is currently preparing for the annual Senator Elections. The elections will come to a close Friday, September 23. Once the elections are finalized, and the incoming Senators are appointed, SGA has big plans to improve the experience at ICC.

“We are looking at implementing some driving safety stuff around ICC,” she shared.

SGA is looking to fill 13 senator seats. To apply for a senator’s seat, one must complete an SGA application and submit it to the Student Life office for review. The application can be found on the SGA website.

Voting for the Student Government Elections will take place Sept 21 and 22 from 8 am to 4 pm in the Atrium of the East Peoria Campus.
