Wednesday, March 6: Casino Night

Student Life recently hosted a packed casino night, where students played games like Poker and Blackjack for prizes.

“The prizes included a gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks, and Chilis. They had specialized gift baskets. So they had like a movie night basket where they had a gift card to AMC theaters and candy. They also had one that was “stay cozy”. It had blankets, candles, and cozy stuff,” says student Sophia Larimore.

“It was a really cool night and I enjoyed it a lot. Me and my friends had a wonderful time. It was a really cool experience to hang out with ICC students and make friends,” Larimore says.

Eli Cook won the event overall by having the most tickets. He acquired a $15 Chili’s gift card, $10 to Starbucks, and a $50 salon gift basket.

Cook felt like it felt like the mid-term equivalent of de-stress week, ICC’s tradition of having fun events before finals. He feels it brought a moment of fun and relaxation to many students in the midst of stressful tests.

“It was great to feel like a winner and be with friends before midterms,” he says.

Friday, March 8-9: Pickleball Tournament

The recent pickleball tournament was a success, according to its organizer and president of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Shriyaan Majety. Around 50 people showed up for an action-packed tournament.

In the singles tournament, Cason Kellum won first place, Logan Moor won second, and Shriyaan Majety won third.

In the doubles tournament, Ryan Tran and Carson Kellum won first place, Shriyan Majety and Logan Moor won second, and Troy Houhulin and Mark Burnham won third.
