ICC Campus Police Report for March 2019

  • March 8, 2019 – An ICC police officer investigated the unauthorized use of a handicapped parking placard in the parking lot of the Peoria Campus. The owner of the vehicle was located and admitted the placard did not belong to her and she had been using it to park close to the building. The placard was confiscated and the car owner was issued a Regulation Violation ticket for unauthorized parking in a handicapped space ($350.00 fine).
  • March 18, 2019 – A wallet was stolen from a jacket that was left unattended at the ICC Fitness Center. The wallet was later recovered and an ICC Police investigator was able to identify a suspect at Campus Housing. That person was charged with a regulation violation for theft.
  • March 19, 2019 – ICC Police received a report of a subject stealing food from the cafeteria at the East Peoria Campus. The suspect was located and charged with a regulation violation for theft.
  • March 21, 2019 – A resident of Campus Housing told ICC police her gate access key was stolen after she left it on a table in the cafeteria. Video surveillance camera footage revealed that no theft had occurred. The female later admitted she had made up the story because she had lost the key and didn’t want to have to pay to replace it. She was issued a regulation violation ticket for false reporting of a crime.
  • March 26, 2019 – A verbal confrontation turned into a physical altercation between two men at the Peoria Campus. There were no injuries. The two were separated and told to leave campus and not return until they were contacted by the Dean.
  • March 29, 2019 – ICC Police officers responded to a complaint of an odor of burnt cannabis in an apartment at Campus Housing. The officers detected the odor of burnt cannabis, but could did find any physical evidence. The matter was referred to Campus Housing management.
