The food bank at ICC was a vision that no student would have to be worried about where the next meal would come from. Professor Joseph Chianakas explains the origins began the winter of 2011 officially through the Intercultural Diversity Committee. For the first 2 years food was gathered to be distributed by food drives and food baskets just once a week. Later, permanent locations were open to students at both campuses, and there became a greater need. Student Services now handles the food banks because of the growing participation. And it is now open daily on both campuses.
