Harrison, AR – As the sun rose in Arkansas on Monday morning, it was the first full day of events for the #1 ICC Cougars (31-1) at the National Tournament.

It was a fairly light day, with breakfast and study tables at the hotel in the morning hours.

Come lunchtime, the Cougars got a good walk in over to a split group between Subway and Brick Oven Pizza Co.. The lunch and the corresponding walk afterwards proved to be a good one. Either way, it was some free time that remained before the drive was made to Pioneer Pavilion, the sight of this year’s National Tournament games.

ICC made their way in at the allotted time and got right to work.

Roughly mid-way through the practice, it was time to meet some more new faces, or at least to the nine new players for the Cougars. David McBee and Joey Shaw stopped by practice. McBee and Shaw represent the Twin Lakes Sports Network. For those that followed last tournament’s coverage, the duo were involved in providing interviews last year as well, their publication was just under a different name.

The practice concluded with a great high-energy shooting drill, in which the Cougars didn’t miss many of. They did their break underneath the hoop, and sophomores Marquitta Easley and Kathy Pinnock-Branford, as well as head coach Karrie Redeker made their way up to the top of Pioneer Pavilion to take care of their interviews. Those will be posted on social media in the near future, and Harbinger Student Media will provide links when they become available.

For now, it’s some more down time before the official tournament tip-off banquet, scheduled to start at 6:00 pm at the Durand Center further into town.
