Winter Storm Shakes ICC

A pillar of smoke rolls across pond on the golf course at the Illinois Central College East Peoria campus Wednesday. Like much of central Illinois, the East Peoria campus was greatly affected by winter storm. All across the campus are piles of branches and fallen tree limbs, left in the wake of the storm. While college staff works hard to recover the damaged campus, students join them as well. Former finance major, Louis Manzella switched his major to horticulture and now hacks away at the damaged tree limbs on the campus garden. “I hope it stays cold” says Manzella as he explains how global warming is throwing off the plants. The horticulture student goes on to talk about the effects of freezing and warming has on the plants. With colder weather in the forecast ahead, it seems Mother Nature isn’t done yet.
