Student Government Elections; Know the Candidates

This week elections for Student Government Association (SGA) positions will be held on Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30. One of the most important positions in SGA is the role of Student Trustee. The Student Trustee is entrusted as the sole voice of ICC’s student body to the Board of Trustees. Al Cuizon Jr and Leon Belmont are the two candidates for the Student Trustee position. 

Cuizon is a political science student. Cuizon spent four years in the Marine ROTC at his high school prior to ICC. He founded a Marketing business on the side, and has ambitions for Harvard as his future Alma Mater. Cuizon also plans to start an advisory board to the Board of Trustees to create a louder voice for the student body of ICC.

Belmont is a pre-med student at ICC. He is also President of the International Club. Belmont has been involved in SGA in his two years at ICC. He was a Senator in his previous semester, as well as, the previous Secretary of SGA. Belmont is looking to present more ways to increase student engagement at ICC.
