Throughout March, Harbinger Student Media’s Self-Care Tips&Tools podcast focused on skills to declutter and reduce stress. Part two of the series was released Friday, March 25, discussing methods to clear out old and stagnant energy. The segment also included a guided meditation.

Part two of this series focused on clearing out energy in the internal sense. Decluttering helps break up stagnant energy and clear the path to self-care and self-discovery. Learning and practicing meditation, reiki and yoga are a few methods used to get the energetic flow back in motion.

Meditation is the primary tool suggested in the podcast to combat energy blockage. Meditation can be used anywhere, anytime, and only requires a few minutes to disconnect with the surrounding energetic space and reconnect with oneself. Just taking a few moments to reflect helps to bring more clarity and has been known to help the individual feel more grounded.

Reiki is used to examine energy flow and get that energy moving freely. Practicing Reiki can help to identify areas of blockage. An emotional blockage is a disconnection from one’s emotional state. This blockage is typically known to involve an inability to effectively identify or express one’s feelings or the cause. There could be many reasons for experiencing a blockage, it is recommended to explore that with the help of a professional reiki master until you are familiar with the practice.

The final method is learning and practicing yoga. This method combines the physical realm through bodily movement while connecting to our higher self through meditation. This method is a great practice to restore overall energy flow. It helps with clarity, flexibility, discipline, among many other benefits.

The second segment of the Decluttering to Reduce Stress series also featured a guided meditation. This meditation focused on letting go of old stagnant energy that may be attached to items that cause a negative emotional response.
