In the case of an emergency, ICC Police Chief Thomas Larson stresses the importance for students to download the Rave Guardian app. Chief Larson says calling 911 for an emergency goes to Pekin dispatchers. Then your call has to be transferred over to the East Peoria Police Department, where responding officers may not be nearby.

This free mobile app directly lines the ICC police dispatcher; it works for calls and texting. Campus Police are automatically dispatched to the scene when you click “ICC Police Emergency.” You will have the option to share your location with safety officials before you approve of the call.

By utilizing Rave Guardian, you can connect directly to campus security, bringing help to you much quicker. The Chief urges students to download Rave Guardian to assist in combating emergencies on campus.

The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and activated with just your cell phone number and ICC email address. The app also allows you to submit crime tips and photos, which you can do anonymously. You can also call (309) 694-5111 for all campus emergencies.
