ICC Women’s Basketball Set to Kick Off With Day-Long Jamboree
Basketball season is approaching at Illinois Central College, and the women’s Cougars will start it off in a big way by hosting the 10th annual Women’s Basketball 20-team Jamboree here on campus at the CougarPlex in Ramsey Gym on October 7th.
This full day of events gives basketball fans an opportunity to watch hours of live hoops as 20 of the best junior college teams will all be under one roof, battling it out on four courts to “get the rust off” before getting into the swing of the regular season.
When talking to Lady Cougars basketball player, freshman Jhanel Coleman on what she is excited for this season, Coleman said, “I’m most excited about being with a new team and having a fresh start.”
At the Jamboree, ICC will be facing Joliet at 9 a.m., Vincennes at 2 p.m., and Southwestern Illinois at 4 p.m.
Coleman added, “I’m not from around here, so all the teams are new to me.”
