ICC Volleyball Headed to Post-Season With Strong Record
The ICC Cougars volleyball season has been successful so far. They are ranked seventh in the NJCAA D2 volleyball rankings and 29-10 on the year, with a nine-game win streak.
Sophomore Sophie Adams says the team is talented, but that’s not the only key to their performance.
“Another main reason why we have had success this year is the chemistry and bond we have with each other both on and off the court,” Adams says. “Everyone trusts and truly cares about one another and wants everyone to succeed. This kind of trust and support carries over into games and is a big reason why we work so well together.”
Adams also says the team’s leadership has helped the team, including captains Emily Cronkhite, Jenna Ochs, and Emily Allison. “We have three amazing captains this year who are great leaders for our team, but there are many different people who lead both on and off the court,” Adams says. “Some lead by example and others are vocal leaders, but I think one of the good things about our team is we do have many different people who step up and lead and push everyone to be their best.”
As the volleyball season heads to the postseason, the Cougars hope to have a long run and make it to nationals. District tournament will be played November 4th in Lorene Ramsey Gym.
