The ICC Men’s Basketball team matched up against the John Wood Community College Blazers last Saturday, February 8th, 2020. While the Cougars attempted to fight back, they struggled to regain their footing and lost 65-54.
The Cougars dominated on the boards having 43 rebounds, including 23 offensive rebounds, while the Blazers only had 28. Damond Crosby led the Cougars with 12 points.
The Cougars went into the half down 37-23 and came out in the second half and added 31 points. “Nothing really changed other than more offensive rebounds in the second half,” ICC men’s basketball head coach Tony Wysinger responded.
The Cougars’ defense couldn’t hold the Blazers all game thanks to the early lead that the Blazers had. “Team defense has to be about pride and literally wanting to stop your opponent from what they are accustomed to,” Wysinger responded. “We could not do that all game.”
The Cougars play their next game on Wednesday the 12th against Southeastern Iowa Community College up in Burlington, Iowa. Their next home game is this Saturday the 15th against Danville Area Community College at the CougarPlex.
