Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the sister show to our brotherly Foresight Entertainment, Hindsight Entertainment, where we take a brief look into our past so we can understand our future. Whereas Foresight brings us all the names of what to look forward to, we hit rewind and reflect on what made the biggest splash this last week. Due to the constraints of some of our medium and a desire to keep our scope within reason, we’d like to limit our reviews and summaries to bite-sized portions of our favorite slices of life. So with introductions out of the way, we welcome you to take a brief glimpse into the past.

Our top stories from last week, Jordan Peele’s Us premiered to set records for independent, original horror as well as original R-rated movies, grossing $70.3 million domestically during its opening weekend, surpassing previous horror champion A Quiet Place and R-rated titleholder Ted for opening weekends while nearly doubling the his debut film Get Out. Peele is quickly setting himself apart from his Comedy Central alumni by proving that misery and comedy truly are mirror images of each other.

Hulu’s newest drama anthology The Act proves to be resonating with audiences and critics alike, currently sitting at 90% and 94% on the Tomatometer and Audience Score respectively. Many have praised the performances of Joey King as Gypsy Blanchard and Dee Dee (Patricia Arquette) as Gypsy attempts to ease her stifling mother’s grip in this series of startling true-crime dramas.

And to cap off our recap, From Software’s latest hardcore hack-and-slash title has proven to be 2019’s biggest videogame release capping at nearly 125 thousand peak players on Steam with over 7.5 million hours already being played within the first week of the game’s launch. Sadly, the game hasn’t been all cherries blossoms and shinobi, with many major news outlets and players expressing their disdain for the optimization of the Xbox One versions of the game. As shown in a Forbes article released March 23, Xbox One X despite running at the same resolution is noticably lagging behind its PS4 Pro counterparts in performance. Some have managed to devise mods to work around frame caps put on the game, but many hope to see the game’s performance better stabilized across the board. Regardless, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice aims to be a top contender for the highest crown in gaming this year.

And now with our eyes open to the past and vision to the future, Hindsight Entertainment signs off wishing you well your own trail thoroughly blazed.
