Doctor Sleep is a must-watch movie. If you liked The Shining, then you’ll love Doctor Sleep.

Director Mike Flanagan, known for the Netflix original show The Haunting of Hill House, gave us a movie that kept us at the edge of our seats.

As a sequel to the classic horror movie, The Shining, Doctor Sleep takes us through what an adult Danny Torrence, the little boy from the original now played by Ewan McGregor, dealing with what happened to him in the past and and what he is still going through.

This movie gives us a great sense of the story and great character development throughout. And there wasn’t a better character from the Shining to follow than Danny, but we also get more in-depth looks into characters that didn’t get the spotlight in the original.

However, Danny isn’t the only one that has something special about them. There is now a whole group that have similar powers.

Led by Rose the Hat, played by Rebecca Ferguson, this new group plays a very important role in the story. Additionally, Abra Stone’s character Kyliegh Curran shares Danny’s power and helps him throughout the film. Can’t forget about another one of Danny’s sidekicks Billy Freeman, played by Cliff Curtis, who helps Danny through some rough times.

The movie is rather long though, lasting two and a half hours, but it is definitely worth it. Make sure to swing into your local theatre and catch this flick. All in all, this would get a 5/5.

I saw Doctor Sleep last month and all I wanted to do was see it again. I did not care about the long hours, the plot is superb, kudos to the director and writer, the acting was real, I could feel it. I think Doctor Sleep is the best movie that I have seen this year. one of my favorite scenes was when Abra was playing mind tricks with Rose the Hat. I also love how Abra and Danny communicate and unite to fight Rose and her crew. Thanks a lot for sharing, I really recommend this movie to those who have not seen it, sorry if I spoilt it for anyone. I will love it if you could visit my site for something I recently shared. This link will guide you there, thank you.
