December 2023 and January 2024 Campus Police Report

One person was arrested, one student was removed from student housing, another student was removed from a class, and three non-traffic tickets were issued. There is one ongoing investigation.

Presumably due to only one recorded crime occurring on an Illinois Central College campus in December 2023, that month was combined with January 2024 into a single police report.

  • December 8: A non-resident who was banned from Housing was found on the property. The individual fled off campus. All residents were warned through email about Dae-John Davis Lewis and his potential involvement in several thefts on campus. *Residents who allow banned persons on property are subject to removal from housing.
    • Davis-Lewis made a dramatic escape from police by jumping off a second-story balcony and running off into the woods. An upcoming Harbinger Student Media article will cover this story in more depth.
  • January 14: A student resident was suspended and removed from housing after multiple violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
  • January 18: An individual was removed from a community class at the Peoria Campus for disorderly conduct.
  • January 23: A resident called in a false loud noise complaint on another apartment. That resident was issued a ticket for the false report.
  • January 24: Officers responded to the CougarPlex for a call of two females fighting. Both females left before officers arrived and were not identified.
  • January 25: A loud noise complaint was called in at Housing. Two residents were issued tickets for the loud noise. **A warning was issued to all residents by email early this semester. Due to excessive complaints, any legitimate loud noise violations occurring during housing “quiet hours” will be ticketed / fined.
  • January 29: A false fire alarm was pulled at Housing. Investigation is ongoing.
  • January 30: A student resident reported an ex-dating partner acted disorderly and damaged their vehicle at Housing. The individual was arrested and issued a Notice to Appear in court for the charges.
