Dale Carnegie Trainer Presenting

EAST PEORIA — The name Dale Carnegie has long been synonymous with skills in public speaking, business presentations and communication skills in general. Now, ICC students are about to get the opportunity to learn a thing or two about communication from an actual Dale Carnegie trainer.

Next Tuesday, March 11, at noon, Dan Conrod, manager of delivery at Dale Carnegie – Chicago, will be hosting a presentation called “Communication Styles: Yours, Mine and What to Do About It” in room 212C/D of the East Peoria Academic Building.

According to ICC Student Leadership and Engagement (SLE), Conrod’s presentation is going to discuss how “there are some people who we just seem to connect with and others that we just never understand.”

Students can learn about differences in communication styles and that “we all have natural tendencies and learnings that affect how we view the world.”

This event is only one part of a larger series of events that SLE is providing for students in its Leadership Education And Development (L.E.A.D.) program, which is new to ICC this semester.

If students stop by SLE in office 305B they can learn about other scheduled events and sign a registration form that will then allow them to be officially recognized by ICC for their attendance to these L.E.A.D. events.

NOTE: By March 7th, SLE is scheduled to relocate to the offices of 302F and 303A. This moves its offices closer to the Student Lounge.
