Campus Police Report for February 2020

Reported Incidents

  • February 1, 2020
    • Campus Police were dispatched to Campus Housing on a call of an earlier argument. The complainant said there had extremely loud music coming from a car in the parking lot.
    • Due to the late hour, he went outside and told them to turn the music down. This lead to an argument before the car left the area. The complainant was advised to contact Campus Police to handle any future issues.
  • February 2, 2020
    • Campus Police on patrol observed a large group of people yelling and arguing outside of one of the apartment buildings at Campus Housing.
    • Officers broke up the group and non-residents were told to leave campus. A disagreement between two females had led to the verbal argument. That issue was resolved by officers.  
  • February 5, 2020
    • Campus Police in the Campus Housing Clubhouse on an unrelated matter heard excessive engine revving and squealing tires nearby.
    • A complainant later gave the officer the license plate number of the car. Officers located the driver at his residence at Campus Housing. He was informed any further incidents would result in enforcement action.
  • February 11, 2020
    • A Campus Housing employee reported that a parking sign and signpost was missing from the parking lot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate it.
  • February 17, 2020
    • A college employee at the East Peoria campus notified Campus Police that they had received a phone call from an ex, a violation of a standing Order of Protection.
    • The incident was documented for the court. The victim was advised to contact Campus Police if there was any further contact from the suspect.
  • February 22, 2020
    • Campus Police received a complaint regarding someone smoking marijuana in an apartment at Campus Housing. Officers investigated and learned that a non-resident was responsible.
    • Because any smoking or possession of marijuana is not allowed at Campus Housing, a Regulation Violation ticket was issued and the person was removed from campus.
