WITH SPRING IN FULL SWING, ICC STUDENTS ARE READY FOR GRADUATION.
By David Prim
May 1st, 2019. ICC East Peoria Campus – It is that time again! Spring is here and another year comes to an end. Students on campus are part of a strong, positive, and encouraging environment setting the tone for a memorable 2018-2019 collegiate year.
The latest class of college students will gather on Saturday May 11th, at the Peoria Civic Center for graduation. Ceremonies are to begin at 9:00am and then ending sometime around 1:00pm.
This year, this campus has seen many upgrades to the facilities such as tech and communications. The Harbinger Student Media office was just one of the campus offices that received new Macs, which had an immediate positive impact on daily operations. New phone upgrades were completed throughout the campus as well.
Another project to be on the lookout for is the remodel work of moving the Human Resources department to the second floor. The academic restrooms renovation is in “Phase C” and will continued through the year.
Our campus has seen the arrival of new professors this year like Professor Matthew Briggs and even watched the growth of our international community. Our women’s basketball team had a championship year. We watched our new student transfer partner, Bradley University men’s basketball team become a dominate force in college basketball by making it to March Madness.
Now that we have to say goodbye to new friends and reflecting on the achievement of graduating college, the challenge is what to do next. Do we continue on the journey to become a graduate? Do we serve our country by defending it? Or do we solidify the middle-class by entering the workforce with a better understanding of at least who we are, and confident because of graduating college?
Regardless, there is a new found strength and integrity for completing our first big choice. Because it was a choice. So be proud!
To ALL the 2019 graduating class of ICC, good luck…
