Top-10 Volleyball Matchup in Champaign next Wednesday

East Peoria, IL – In what could arguably be one of the biggest Illinois Central College sporting events of the 2017-2018 school year, the #6-ranked ICC Cougars Volleyball team travels to Champaign to take on the top team in the country, Parkland, at 6:00 pm Wednesday.

The host #1 Cobras have quite a reputation in the NJCAA, going (129-2) in the last three seasons, winning consecutive National Championships in 2015 and 2016. According to the Parkland Cobras website, their Head Coach, Cliff Hastings, is in his eighth season with the program, compiling an overall record of 382 wins and 42 losses.

The Cougars went from #8 up to #6 in the latest rankings after a good showing at their own tournament, upsetting nationally-ranked Lincoln Land. The Cougars have lost 9 sets this season, while the Cobras have lost 5 sets. Head Coach Sue Sinclair is in her 28th season, and just compiled her 900th win last  season.
