Here are the upcoming events from March 3 to March 8:

Month-long events:

  • Student Life Writing Contest – The time to submit entries is from Feb. 10 to March 14. Students can send their poems, short stories, and research papers to Student Life and receive cash prizes. More details can be found here.

Sunday, March 2:

  • Charley’s Aunt – This will start at 7:30 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center, Studio Room 215, East Peoria campus. A performance of the comedy play, Charley’s Aunt, will be performed by and for ICC students. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased here.

Monday, March 3:

  • Double Take: Eric Zeigler and Aaron Ellison Art Exhibition – This will occur from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center, East Peoria campus. Students will be able to see Zeigler and Ellison’s artwork combining 19th century photography and modern infrared and ultraviolet techniques.
  • Super Nova Forcefield: Joseph T. Swanson Art Exhibition – This will occur from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in Gallery Room 336B, East Peoria Campus. Students will be able to see Swanson’s artwork combining street art and studio painting.
  • U.N.I.T.E. Weekly Club Meeting – This will occur from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the International Room, Room 304A, in the Academic Building, East Peoria campus. Queer students will be able to meet and hang out with other queer students.

Tuesday, March 4:

  • Double Take: Eric Zeigler and Aaron Ellison Art Exhibition – This will occur from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center, East Peoria campus. Students will be able to see Zeigler and Ellison’s artwork combining 19th century photography and modern infrared and ultraviolet techniques.
  • Super Nova Forcefield: Joseph T. Swanson Art Exhibition – This will occur from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in Gallery Room 336B, East Peoria Campus. Students will be able to see Swanson’s artwork combining street art and studio painting.
  • University of Illinois Springfield Transfer Center Table Visit – This will occur from 9:30 a.m. to noon, in the Atrium outside the East Peoria bookstore. University of Illinois will have representatives there to answer any questions students may have about transferring there.
  • Solar Pipeline Career Fair – This will occur from noon to 4 p.m., at the Student Center, Peoria Campus. Students will be able to meet with fifteen local employers who work with solar energy.
  • D&D Weekly Club Meetings – This will occur from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., in Room 233B in the Academic Building, East Peoria campus. Plan epic adventures and play D&D with fellow students.
  • CRU Lifegroup Weekly Meetings – This will occur from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Coffee Lounge in the Technology Center, East Peoria Campus. An interdenominational space for Christian students to connect with each other.
  • APA Citations Workshop – This will occur from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the East Peoria campus library. Students will be able to learn how to create APA citations.

Wednesday, March 5:

  • Relax in the Stacks – This will occur from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., in the Student Center, Peoria campus. Students will be able to enjoy snacks and therapy dogs to help relieve stress.

Thursday, March 6:

  • LGBTQ+ Talkspace – This will occur from noon to 1 p.m., in the International Room, Room 304A, in the Academic Building, East Peoria campus. A time and space for LGBTQ+ students to receive peer-led support and share experiences.
  • Free Yoga Sessions – This will occur from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the East Peoria campus library. Students can participate in a free yoga session to relieve stress and tension.
  • LGBTQ+ Talkspace – This will occur from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the International Room, Room 304A, in the Academic Building, East Peoria campus. A time and space for LGBTQ+ students to receive peer-led support and share experiences.
  • Film Screening: Lee, featuring Kate Winslet – This will occur from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Lecture Recital Hall, Room 127F, East Peoria campus. A screening of Lee, a biographical film about Lee Miller, a model turned war correspondent, who risked her life to expose the actions of Nazi Germany. This event is free and open to the public, with free refreshments being provided.

Friday, March 7:

  • Fashion Club Meeting – This will occur from noon to 2 p.m., in Room 131C in the Academic Building, East Peoria campus. Students can interact with fellow fashion enthusiasts and participate in ICC’s fashion show at the end of this semester.
  • D&D Weekly Club Meetings – This will occur from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., in Room 233B in the Academic Building, East Peoria campus. Plan epic adventures and play D&D with fellow students.
