Wednesday, March 9, Illinois Central College‘s (ICC) Honors Program hosted a fundraiser for Foster Pet Outreach on the East Peoria campus. Foster Pet Outreach is a non-profit organization that was established in 1991; they rely on volunteers to help with their goal of helping at-risk animals. Foster Pet Outreach mainly focuses on dogs and cats, that are put into a foster home program until they find a new permanent home.
This event was organized by group members Alexia, Clara, Cassie, and help from Student Trustee, Raena Holloway.
A few items that were included in the bake sale included muffins, cornbread, crispy rice treats, brownies, fruit cups. They also had zaatar bread and Basbousa, baked by member Seereen. Their overall goal was to raise $400 for the Foster Pet Outreach. During a brief interview, they had raised a little over 200$.
We spoke with Cassie and Raena, who had an array of treats on display, ready to be purchased. View the live footage of that interview by clicking here.
