Peoria Campus Hosts a Health Career Exploration Fair
Illinois Central College will host a “Health Career Exploration Fair” for students to discover educational healthcare programs leading to careers. This event will take place Dec. 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the ICC Peoria Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Participants will learn about educational pathways leading from high school to a two-year degree to a four-year degree and beyond. They will discover career opportunities in the local healthcare industry and tour ICC’s new state-of-the-art digital and interdisciplinary simulation and skills labs.
ICC faculty and students will guide participants through hands-on learning activities in many health care disciplines/professions:

· LPN to RN Completion Program

· Medical Assistant

· Medical Lab Technician

· Phlebotomist
· Physical Therapist Assistant
· Radiographer
· Registered Nurse
· Respiratory Therapist
· Surgical Technologist
Health Careers Academic Advisors will review academic preparation for college, as well as discuss expectations once students are admitted to a health career program at ICC or are enrolled in health-related courses.
In addition, ICC admissions representatives, financial aid counselors, and general academic advisors, career advisors, and transfer coordinators will be on hand to speak with participants and answer questions. Human Resource representatives from Unity Point (Methodist, Pekin, Proctor) and OSF St. Francis Medical Center will be available to discuss career opportunities for the ICC program graduates.
