A note to all creatives at Illinois Central College — mark your calendars. The ICC Student Film Festival is just around the corner this spring. For students interested in any aspect of filmmaking, the idea of “getting you work out there” can seem like a difficult task. Not to worry, though, because ICC’s Student Film Festival is the perfect opportunity for students to showcase their filmmaking talents for an audience.
The festival is open to all current and former Illinois Central College students, and students may collaborate on their films. If you are a writer, but maybe shooting, directing, or editing are not your strong suits, this is a great opportunity to form a team to produce your short film. Students may submit more than one film, but should keep submissions to no more than three.
All submissions should be short films, and therefore should be no greater than ten minutes in length. The films can be of any genre, and of up to R-rating.
Entries are due by March 4 and may be submitted in person or to https://filmfreeway.com/ICCStudentFilmFestival.
The ICC Student Film Festival will be held on April 15, at 3 PM in room 123A at ICC. It is open to the public for any to attend, though it is advised not to bring children as there may be films with adult themes shown.
Prizes will be awarded for the short films and the winners will be shown at ICC Arts Week, which will run April 13-17. Winners are greatly encouraged to attend the viewings at Arts Week.
If students wish to view past winners of the Student Film Festival, they can be viewed on YouTube at the ICC FilmFest YouTube Channel at
