ICC Edges Lakeland

EAST PEORIA – The Illinois Central College men’s basketball team takes the win in the battle against Lakeland Community College Monday, Dec. 5.
This was a test for the Cougars as Lakeland held a strong 6-4 record. Even as the lineups were being called, it was clear that the Cougars had brought some intensity.
The teams were neck and neck for most of the first half before ICC received a much needed spark from Sophomore, Cole Louderman.
Cole came in off the bench and knocked down two huge threes that widened the lead for the Cougars in the first half.
When asked about his contribution, “It was great because my team needed a spark off of the bench and I’m happy that I was able to provide that,” Cole said.
The Cougars went into the second half with a 35-23 lead but knew Lakeland wouldn’t go down without a fight.
The second half was filled with intensity and the gap between the two teams slowly closed. The game came to the wire but the Cougars were able to gut out a crucial win! The game ended with the Cougars on top, 72-69.
Cougars will travel to Oglesby, IL on Dec. 10 to face off against IL Valley Community College. The Cougars will look to improve upon their 6-4 record as their season heats up.
