Success is an understatement for what the Women’s basketball team has accomplished. On Sunday, the Lady Cougars beat the Lincoln Land Loggers to be the Regional Champions. It was a fantastic win with a strong effort on offense.
Kayla Gordon scored twenty points for the first time in her athletic career at Illinois Central College (ICC). Playing as a team is really what the Lady Cougars are all about, and when you play as a team, you allow your teammates to have opportunities to score. This motto is what has carried our Women’s basketball team to success.
Next up will be the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Tournament. With one of the best Lady Cougar basketball teams that ICC has had in years, the team looks forward to playing the best basketball they’ve played all season.
Challenges will come up, but if there is anything we’ve learned from this team’s amazing year it’s that when faced with adversity, the Lady Cougars overcome anything that gets in their way. The NJCAA Nationals in Michigan starts on March 15th. Good Luck Cougars!
