Campus Police Report – September 2018
Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 – Campus police at Illinois Central College write a monthly report and safety tips for the Harbinger:
- August 27, 2018 – A resident of Campus Housing discovered damage to the entry door of an apartment. The cause of the damage is unknown.
- August 27, 2018 – An employee of the East Peoria campus DPET building reported that scrap metal items had been stolen from a bin outside of the building.
- August 28, 2018 – A resident of Campus Housing requested Campus Police remove an unwanted guest from the residence. Officers responded and escorted the guest from the property.
- August 29, 2018 – Campus Police completed an investigation in which a local business reported they delivered food on several occasions to a resident of Campus Housing who had been using stolen credit card numbers. The investigation identified a suspect, who was arrested and taken to county jail on felony charges of credit card fraud.
- September 10, 2018 – Two students on the East Peoria Campus were apprehended for stealing food from the cafeteria. They were issued Regulation Violation tickets on charges of theft.
- September 15, 2018 – A resident of Campus Housing discovered an exterior window to an apartment broken. The cause of the damage is unknown.
- September 19, 2018 – A vehicle being driven into the parking lot of Campus Housing struck the control panel box that controls the parking lot gate arm. The control box was damaged. The driver was issued a Regulation Violation ticket on a charge of damage to property.
- September 19, 2018 – A Campus Police officer observed a glass hitter pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana in a vehicle on the East Peoria campus. An investigation led to the confiscation of four hitter pipes, a grinder, 3.7 grams of marijuana, a vaping device, and two used vials of hash oil (commonly used in vaping devices). The owner of the items was issued Regulation Violation tickets on charges of possession of illegal drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Campus Safety Tips:
Drivers should proceed with caution when approaching a pedestrian crossing and are required to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians crossing the roadway at marked crossings.
Pedestrians should not step into the crosswalk if a vehicle is approaching. Remember to keep your head up and watch for cars.
