Campus Police Chief Erika Schwiderski recommended several cybersecurity tips that students, faculty, and staff should follow. She mentioned the need to keep systems and software up to date, install a reputable anti-virus program, and be careful and examine everything when connecting to public wifi or when viewing a digital message.
“If you are the victim of a cyber-enabled crime or fraud, file a report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) as soon as possible,” Schwiderski said in the report.
Cybersecurity victims can file a report and find more information at ic3.gov.
