Wednesday, September 29, Illinois Central College’s (ICC) Campus Activities Board (CAB) hosted their first-ever Escape Room Activity. Abbie Alsene, director of Student Life, proposed the idea and it would appear that CAB loved it.
Since it was CAB’s first time setting up an event like this, the team faced many challenges. They had to know the solutions before setting it up and remember the exact methods to solve each puzzle.
But once it was set up, students were thrust into an unforgettable experience.
The event consisted of a giant, inflatable escape room modeled after an intergalactic library. The room consisted of a total of 7 puzzles. One grand puzzle opened three mini puzzles that unlocked three more puzzles.
Participants had 15 minutes to save all of mankind by using their ingenuity, corroboration, and the various artifacts scattered around the room to solve each of the puzzles. Would you have been able to save all of mankind or leave them to settle in the dust?
Be sure to find us at CAB’s next event Wednesday, October 12, 2022, for a free movie night presenting The Nun in the Performing Arts Center from 7 to 9 p.m.
