International Fair: A Preview

ICC’s International Fair, which is a “cultural display from our diverse international students at ICC,” according to Tia Van, who works closely with the International Club as International Education Coordinator. All are welcome to this fun, family event, which gives all proceeds of the fair will go to ICC’s F-1 students, which are non-immigrant students that are in the United States to pursue an education at ICC.

This year boasts 13 years in a row for the fair, which will host events, music, International food samples, and entertainment, will take place Saturday, April 22, from noon to 3 p.m. in the Cafeteria at the East Peoria Campus.

The fair will have a fashion show with clothes from ICC’s international students home countries and will be modeled by ICC students. Other entertainment includes dancing and a martial arts demonstration. A few of the countries that will be hosting food booths will be China and Egypt.

Families are encouraged to attend to learn about and appreciate world cultures while having fun together. Global Village of Peoria Heights will offer a selection of coffees, chocolates, clothing and gifts from developing countries for purchase. There will be a $3 admission donation and children 10 years and under will have free admission.

Come join the International Diversity Committee and ICC’s International students by coming to the International Fair and supporting ICC’s International students. Come to, according to the slogan on their promotional posters, “learn about the world from international students. Join us in a celebration of their cultures.”
