EAST PEORIA – If students of Illinois Central College are looking to transfer, they should not miss out on a night of talking to representatives from almost 80 colleges. On Oct. 19 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the East Peoria Campus ICC CougarPlex students are invited, along with their parents, to explore their future.
Students can look at colleges close to home, like Bradley University or Eureka college, to colleges farther away, like University of Tampa or University of Northern Iowa. Whatever they are interested in, ICC College Night could be a big help.
If students and their parents cannot make it in the afternoon, transfer representatives will be in the East Peoria Campus: Atrium and Student Lounge from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 19.
All the information on colleges that students at ICC can transfer to will be in one convenient place. College representatives will be able to talk to students and their parents about programs, admission process, scholarships and financial aid opportunities.
If students are looking to transfer to armed services, Illinois State University Army ROTC and even United States Military Academy – West Point will be there along with others.
ICC is also inviting students and parents from local high schools! Those interested in enrolling at ICC may choose to attend one of two “ICC Admissions Overview” sessions (5:45 pm or 6:30 pm) in the CougarPlex Classroom.
ICC admissions representatives will share information on the application process, what tests to take, and when applications are due. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions following the session. Financial Aid representatives also will be on hand for one-on-one consultations.
Campus Housing will also offer tours from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Students and parents can tour the student housing complex, ask questions about campus life, and receive information about leases.
This year, ICC is offering another service to help students get the most out of the night. The service is called StriveScan which allows students to preload their program and career interests, as well as their contact information to receive a personal QR code.
Participants may then print out or show their QR code on their cellphone to representatives of the colleges and universities from which they would like more information. Students may register in advance for a code by visiting StriveFair.com and selecting “ICC Transfer Day and College Night 10/19/16” from the drop-down list.
